Social Responsibility
At NEYA Hotels, social responsibility is a cornerstone of our business strategy, as we strive to generate a positive and measurable impact in the communities where we operate.
The “Quarto Solidário” (Solidarity Room) project, created 13 years ago, is our main external Corporate Social Responsibility initiative. NEYA Hotels provides accommodation and breakfast to vulnerable families whose children are hospitalized in pediatric care. This project is part of our commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely in health (SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being), reducing social inequalities (SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities), and partnerships for development (SDG 17). Since its inception, “Quarto Solidário” has aided over 200 people from over 100 families, offering more than 650 nights of accommodation and breakfast, thus validating the positive impact NEYA Hotels’ generates in the communities we operate in.
In addition to “Quarto Solidário”, NEYA Hotels actively promotes corporate volunteering among our employees, encouraging their direct involvement in social causes. Additionally, we maintain strong partnerships with several social solidarity institutions, maximizing the effectiveness and reach of our actions, in line with SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
Solidarity Room
One of NEYA Hotels’ missions is to promote positive and responsible participation in the community through initiatives and protocols with charitable institutions. An example of this is the “Solidarity Room” initiative, created by NEYA Hotels in 2011. This initiative is the result of a partnership with the São José Local Health Unit (USLSJ) which, through its Social Action Office, identifies and assesses situations in which family members need support. They are referred to the hotel when they need accommodation near the hospitals – Hospital D. Estefânia, Hospital dos Capuchos, Hospital de Santa Marta, Maternidade Dr. Alfredo da Costa and Hospital Curry Cabral.
This partnership was also established with the Centro Materno-Infantil do Norte, in Porto.
The aim is to provide free bed and breakfast to needy families with children admitted to pediatric care.
Corporate Volunteering

The employees prepared and served a special dinner, and all the families took home a basket of essential goods.

Solidarity Dinner at NEYA Porto Hotel
To mark Volunteer Day, we carried out a solidarity action in collaboration with the Miragaia Parish Council and several partners. This initiative supported 35 families (58 people) in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability with a special lunch and a basket of essential goods. This act of solidarity reaffirms our commitment to helping the community.
Support for Education and Training

Training Educate to Transform
The “Training Educate to Transform” initiative by Associação Crescer Bem utilized the room and facilities provided by NEYA Lisboa Hotel to offer practical training in domestic skills to the parents of children undergoing hospital treatment. This training includes activities such as setting the table and making the bed, which are essential not only to improve the quality of life during this difficult period but also to empower parents with valuable skills for the job market. With these skills, parents are better prepared to find employment, promoting their autonomy and financial stability in the long term.
