Quarto Solidário
Social Responsibility Project
Social Responsibility Project
“Quarto Solidário” is a Corporate Social Responsibility Project by NEYA Hotels, created in 2012, which offers free accommodation and breakfast to parents of children hospitalized or undergoing treatment in one of the units of the Unidade de Saúde Local de São José (USLSJ) or in the Centro Materno – Infantil do Norte, in Porto.
The family or caregivers are directed by the hospitals’ Social Support Areas and received by a NEYA Hotels employee who accompanies them from check-in until the day of departure. He provides support and closely monitors families and caregivers at a delicate time in their lives. The “Quarto Solidário” Project provides moments of serenity, in a friendly and trusting environment, so that parents can recharge their energy and hope. Contributing to their well-being and stability so that they have the best conditions to accompany the children.
“QUARTO SOLIDÁRIO” PROJECT PRESENTATION EVENT
The “Quarto Solidário” project was officially presented on September 28th, at an event with the intervention of long-time partners of NEYA Hotels, such as Rosa Valente de Matos, PCA of Centro Hospitalar Universitário de Lisboa Central and Ana Patacho, manager of the Ronald McDonald Children’s Foundation.
It also featured an emotional testimony from Vera Valdanta, mother of one of the families welcomed into the project; Fernanda Serrano, actress who contributed her life experience and appreciation of the family as a fundamental pillar of happiness and well-being; and Sara Freire, general director of NEYA Hotels, who shared her perspective and involvement in this project, having welcomed several families over the 11 years of existence of the “Quarto Solidário”.
For the CEO, more than a simple room, this is an initiative that aims to take care of those who care.
